GIVING LIFE TO THE RUG:

Sambota rugs are handmade in Nepal by poor Nepalese using a traditional Tibetan knotting method. This art of knotting was brought from Tibet by Tibetan refugees in the 1960s.Every step in the process is completed entirely by human hands. Dense plush wool is sheared from Tibetan sheep grazing in the altitude of the Himalayas. The raw wool is washed by hand to rid of its impurities, hand-carded and manually spun into a fine quality yarn. The Dye Master then gives the yarn life in dye pots containing hues in every tone, tint and shade imaginable. My Dye Master is very competent who can match out any Custom color matching on the Earth. Know-how of different kinds of abrash shades technique. In the next step, a Grapher/Designer steadily draws out and then paints the rug design on a full-scale grid for the awaiting weavers. With ready rug graph in hand, dyed yarn in a wicket basket, and a cotton foundation on the loom, the weavers take over to do their magic hands complete. Thousands of hours and infinite knots are nimbly woven into the rug until the last row and the last knot is complete. The masterpiece is finally cut from the loom. Then next magic of trimming starts to bring out beautiful motifs details from the grain of the rug. Washed and finally do necessary final finishing and packaged for its flight across the Atlantic, the folk work of art ends its journey on the floor of your home. The motto of Sambota is very simple and straight forward ...... to provide the best service and quality in a stipulated time with affordable price.
